Location: IRB 4105 and Zoom
Abstract: TBD
Bio: Sandra Bae is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of Arizona, where she co-directs the Data Representation (D-REP) Lab. She develops theories for understanding how data representations shape human reasoning and tools for creating new representations across digital, physical, and immersive media. Her research uses perceptual and cognitive studies to understand how people interpret representations, develops computational and physical methods for realizing new ones, and creates multimodal interactions for exploring data in immersive environments. Current projects span science education, scientific discovery, and human oversight of AI.
Sandra earned her Ph.D. from the ATLAS Institute at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her work has received best-paper honors at leading HCI and visualization venues, including ACM CHI and IEEE VIS. Personal website: https://sandrabae.github.io
