Ben Shneiderman Inducted into IEEE Visualization Academy

The Vis Academy was established this year to recognize significant accomplishments by researchers in computer visualization who directly bolster the endeavors of the entire field.  Ben Shneiderman (left in photo), distinguished university professor emeritus and HCI pioneer and first director of HCIL, and  Amitabh Varshney(right), professor and dean of the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences, were recognized for their work in human-computer interaction and high-performance computer graphics and visualization, respectively. Shneiderman and Varshney were part of a select group of 32 researchers inducted last night during a special ceremony at Vis 2019 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Read more…
